J.D. program formats

Full-time J.D.
Offered. Full-time first-year students were reported to the ABA.
Part-time J.D.

Distance-education J.D.

Formats come from the ABA Council’s published lists, not from the school’s marketing. What each format means

Programs published by the school

Joint and dual degrees

A J.D. earned together with a second degree, usually in less time than the two would take separately. Each pairing is specific to the school that offers it.

Concentrations and courses of study

Defined paths through the J.D. curriculum and study at partner institutions.

Clinics and field placements

Supervised legal work with real clients or in real legal settings, for credit.

Centers and institutes

Research and program centers that organize a school's teaching, scholarship and events in a field.

Journals and advocacy programs

Student-edited publications and competitive advocacy programs.

Advanced law degrees

Degrees for people who already hold a first degree in law, in the United States or abroad.

These are not J.D. programs. The ABA Council approves a school’s J.D. program; it does not approve or accredit these degrees.

22 programs read from University of Oregon School of Law’s own website and reviewed before publication, most recently verified Sep 2026. The list covers structured academic offerings, not student organizations, and may not be complete.
